Several Georgia Bulldogs have already enter the NCAA transfer portal after it officially opened on Monday, Dec. 9. Georgia will be targeting players to bring in and assessing who will be able to play in the Sugar Bowl and who will be transferring out over the next few weeks.
Last season, Georgia lost 24 players to the transfer portal and brought in 11 players via the portal. Head coach Kirby Smart does not like to rely on the portal, but he does use it to fill holes on UGA’s roster and to add depth at key positions.
Georgia has already signed 25 commitment in the class of 2025. The Bulldogs have the nation’s No. 3 recruiting class, so Georgia will have an influx of freshman talent next year.
The transfer portal window is open from Dec. 9 to Dec. 28, which is days before Georgia’s College Football Playoff quarterfinal game on Jan. 1. However, the window extends to five days after the end of the season for each respective team. Georgia’s portal window ends on Jan. 6 at the earliest.
