Geno Smith on rookie WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba: ‘He can do it all, man’

As I wrote in an article published Friday, there is a reason why the 12’s are excited about wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

As I wrote in an article published Friday, there is a reason why the 12’s are excited about wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. The Ohio State standout had a remarkable one-handed touchdown grab in practice where he simply made it look far too easy against Seattle’s secondary.

That’s not a slight at the Seahawks defensive backs, it’s in awe of what this young man could perhaps be capable of. It’s certainly not just me noticing this, mind you. Quarterback Geno Smith is surely excited to have a new weapon at his disposal in 2023, and took the time to praise the rookie.

Per Mike Dugar at the Athletic:

“He can do it all, man… He’s a great player. Jaxon is one of those guys who if you put him out there one-on-one he’s going to win his battles. We’ve been seeing that so far.”

The three-headed monster at wide receiver is going to be quite the Gordian Knot for defenses to solve. Having to defend against DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett is one thing, but now the Seahawks have arguably the best receiver from the draft as well?

I predict plenty of sleepless nights for defensive coordinators around the league when it’s Seahawks Week for their teams.
