The Gator Nation has been riding a high these past few weeks which peaked this past weekend in Tallahassee, where Florida football beat the Florida State Seminoles, 31-11, to clinch a winning season for the first time in four years.
While Saturday’s victory was not as impressive as the ones over the LSU Tigers and Ole Miss Rebels, respectively — both of whom were top-25 teams when they fell to the Orange and Blue — it was a landmark triumph in a heated instr-state rivalry game.
However, not everyone was impressed with what they witnessed inside Doak Campbell Stadium in Week 14. That includes CBS Sports writer Jerry Palm, who apparently felt very “meh” about Florida’s performance in his college football rerank.
Following the Gators’ seventh victory of the 2024 campaign. Palm kept them at No. 34 in his rankings, slotting Florida between No. 33 LSU and the No. 35 Iowa Hawkeyes — both of whom fell two spots to their current position.

The Oregon Ducks once again remained perched at No. 1 while the Texas Longhorns moved up a spot to No. 2 while the Penn State Nittany Lions advanced two places to No. 3. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Georgia Bulldogs wrap up the top five, respectively.
The SMU Mustangs moved up a spot to No. 6 while the Ohio State Buckeyes fell five places to No. 7. The Indiana Hoosiers, Tennessee Volunteers and Boise State Broncos, respectively, to round out the top 10.
What’s next for Florida?
That is the end of the regular-season schedule for the Orange and Blue. Now the Gator Nation waits with bated breath to hear which bowl game their beloved football team will play in this December. Stay tuned to this website for more information.
