Things are ramping up this week ahead of a big finale at the end of July with Florida football’s annual Friday Night Lights and team barbeque just days away. [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] and Co. look to get things cooking on the recruiting front ahead of the weekend action as one highly-coveted 2024 prospect drops in on Monday to take a tour of the Swamp.
The Gators welcome four-star linebacker [autotag]Kristopher Jones[/autotag] out of Stafford (Virginia) Mountain View to start the week after offering him a scholarship just three weeks prior. The 6-foot-2-inch, 205-pound rising junior will be making his first trip to Gainesville with an arrival time scheduled around 10 a.m. EDT, according to Swamp247.
As far as schools in the running for the young linebacker’s talents, according to On3, are the Ohio State Buckeyes, Virginia Tech Hokies, Virginia Cavaliers and Penn State Nittany Lions are the front runners early on in his own words. The Georgia Bulldogs, Tennessee Volunteers and South Carolina Gamecocks are also in play.
Jones is currently ranked No. 96 overall and No. 8 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite, while the On3 consensus ranks him at Nos. 136 and 16, respectively. The Nittany Lions lead in On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 22.8% chance of landing him, while the Hokies are at 20%, Cavs at 11.6% and Buckeyes at 9.7%.
