Week 3 of the 2024 college football campaign was not kind to the Florida Gators, who suffered an authoritative loss to the Texas A&M Aggies at home in their Southeastern Conference opener, 33-20.
Everyone knew the Sysiphean task that the Gators faced this fall with the toughest schedule in the sport and the results so far have been consistent with many expectations. Nonetheless, [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] is now on a scorching head coach hot seat and the Orange and Blue are dealing with the reality of another sub-.500 season.
As a result of their second loss of the year in three tries, Napier and Co. once again find themselves ranked 15th out of 16 teams in 247Sports’ SEC Power Poll rankings, with only the Mississippi State Bulldogs — their next opponent — ranked lower after Week 3.
