Gators rise up to No. 3 in latest Amway Coaches Poll

Even in a poll that includes the Big 10, the Gators’ performance on Saturday has coaches around the country impressed.

Florida is moving up in the latest update to the Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

In its record-setting 51-35 victory over Ole Miss on Saturday in the season opener, quarterback Kyle Trask tossed six touchdowns and threw for over 400 yards. After that performance, the Gators have jumped three spots in the poll from No. 6 to No. 3, just behind No. 1 Clemson and No. 2 Alabama.

UF jumped No. 4 Georgia, who trailed at halftime 7-5 to Arkansas in its season opener before pulling away to a 37-10 win. It also jumped Oklahoma and LSU, who each suffered major upsets at the hands of Kansas State and Mississippi State, respectively.
