Gators remain fifth in Amway Coaches Poll for Week 13

Florida Gators’ win over the Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday earned them the privilege of holding on to their ranking from the previous poll.

The Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports for Week 13 was published on Sunday with the Florida Gators still ranked fifth in the nation after a solid, but sometimes disconcerting, effort in their win against the Kentucky Wildcats on Sunday.

The most interesting change this week is the Ohio State Buckeyes and Clemson Tigers swapping places in the poll, as the former dropped a spot to No. 4 while the latter inched up to third.

The remainder of the top 10 otherwise went unchanged, with the Southeastern Conference placing four teams in the upper echelon of the standing — the Alabama Crimson Tide held onto the top spot while the Texas A&M Aggies are one notch behind the Gators at No. 6 and the Georgia Bulldogs wrap up the top tier at tenth.

The only other SEC team previously in the top 25, the Auburn Tigers, dropped out of the poll after a 42-13 drubbing by the Tide last Saturday after being ranked No. 19 the week prior. The conference-only schedule has certainly taken its toll on the league’s middle class, leaving only the cream of the crop to survive the 2020 college football gauntlet.

Here are the full top 25 rankings for college football’s Week 13 of the 2020 schedule.
