Four-star linebacker Jaden Robinson is the latest in-state talent to plan a visit with the Florida Gators.
The 6-foot, 215-pound recruit out of Columbia High in Lake City, Florida will be in Gainesville on March 15 to meet with Billy Napier‘s staff for the first time, according to 247Sports. Robinson has seen the campus and facilities on past visits, so he’ll be looking to learn more about the new staff and scheme on this visit.
Outside linebacker coach Mike Peterson knows Robinson from his time recruiting for South Carolina and inside linebacker coach Jay Bateman has also been in contact. The Gators have yet to extend a scholarship offer to him, but Robinson is expecting one once he arrives in Gainesville.
Robinson said that he’s looking for a second home and family to commit to rather than simply a college. Napier’s style might be the right fit for him and a visit could put the Gators ahead of the rest of his suitors. Robinson plans to drop by Louisville and South Carolina, but he holds offers from 17 Power Five programs.
Florida does have one advantage over the other programs competing for Robinson. Demetric Jackson, Robinson’s head coach at Columbia, played safety for the Gators in the 1990s alongside Peterson.
247Sports ranks Robinson as the No. 19 linebacker and the No. 194 overall recruit in the class of 2023. He’s also considered the 37th-best player in the state of Florida by the service.
