Another new week is here, this one with the promise of Southeastern Conference football at its end as the Florida Gators and the rest of the league launch their 2020 college football seasons.

At the top of the news, USA TODAY Sports has Central Florida among risers in its latest NCAA Re-Rank for teams1-90. There were no changes to the top eight.

Paul Myerberg takes a look at the winners and losers from Week 3 in college football, who are led by Central Florida and Clemson. No. 13 Central Florida’s 49-21 win at Georgia Tech cements the Knights’ status as the team to beat in the Group of Five and maintains the program’s underdog hopes of crashing the College Football Playoff.

Finally, Erick Smith talks about the lessons learned in Week 3 of college football action. For instance, much is made of the grit and resolve of players at the service academies as they try to match bigger programs. Sometimes that’s just media hyperbole. In this case, the win by the Midshipmen was all about resolve.
