Humpday is here, which means we are halfway to another weekend of college football action featuring our beloved Florida Gators. While the team gets prepared for Saturday’s action, there are a couple of other activities happening in the Gators sports world.

The men’s and women’s golf teams continued competition yesterday in the inaugural Blessings Collegiate Invitational, an SEC-only tournament held in Fayetteville, Ark. The former continued to struggle, dropping from ninth to eleventh place but improving to a cumulative 5-over par score on Tuesday — versus their 12-over par score on Monday — while the latter shot an ugly 16-over par to fall from third to sixth place in the 14-team field. Today is the final day of the fall season’s opening tournament.

In history news, on this day in 1916 Georgia Tech defeated Cumberland College 222-0 in one of the most lopsided victories in sports history. The Yellow Jackets — called the Engineers at the time — were one of the greatest teams of the era, while the Patriots were little more than a collection of frat boys.
