It is the beginning of another week with the hangover from the Gators’ upset loss on Saturday to the Texas A&M Aggies fading into the background.
Now that the disappointing defeat is old news, it is time to look forward to next weekend’s match back in The Swamp with the now-unranked LSU Tigers. In the meantime, let us take a gander at some stories from around college football as well as campus.
At the top of the news today, USA TODAY Sports’ Eddie Timanus takes a look at the latest Amway Coaches Poll results. Florida slipped to No. 9 while the Aggies vaulted nine positions to No. 11, a couple of notches higher than they were rated before losing to Alabama.
In other Gators athletics, the soccer team also traveled to College Station this weekend and came away with similar results after dropping their Sunday match to the No. 11 Aggies, 2-1, for the first loss of the 2020 season. Florida takes the pitch again on Oct. 18 back at the home confines of Donald R. Dizney Stadium starting at 6 p.m. ET.
