We are on the downslope of another week on the heels of an active day yesterday which did not quite go as planned for the men’s basketball team, while things were also quiet on national signing day for the football team.

Starting with the signing day activities, Florida remains ranked No. 10 in the nation for its 2021 recruiting class after all was said and done, according to ESPN. You can check out who has signed so far along with bios and video for each player at UF’s official page.

Now for the bad news. Th No. 22 Gators men’s basketball team had an opportunity to win its fifth straight after appearing in the polls this week but failed to capitalize at home against the South Carolina Gamecocks. Florida came out flat and despite a five-point lead at the half simply could not seize the victory from the jaws of defeat. Interestingly, it was the fifth-straight time the road team won in the series.

Today, the No. 21 women’s tennis team travels to Tallahassee to take on the No. 8 Florida State Seminoles looking to bounce back from its loss to the UCF Knights last Friday. First serve is scheduled for 4:45 p.m. EST and will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra from the Scott Speicher Tennis Center.

The women’s basketball team was scheduled to face the Vanderbilt Commodores tonight, but that match has been canceled due to COVID-19 precautions taken by Vandy.
