Welcome to a Tuesday edition of Gators News! We finally have some positivity to report thanks to the women’s basketball team, while things are heading the other direction for the men at the moment.

Starting off with the good news, the Lady Gators defeated the Tarleton State Texans yesterday afternoon, 84-52, to win their fifth-straight game. Sophomore guard Lavender Briggs led the way with 20 points while sophomore guard Nina Rickards pulled down a career-high 17 rebounds. Their next game is slated for Monday, Dec. 21 when they host in-state foe the North Florida Ospreys, with tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. EST.

As for the men, their game against UNF scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed as the team awaits improvement in Keyontae Johnson‘s condition. The junior star forward collapsed on the court on Saturday against the Florida State Seminoles and has remained in critical but stable condition since.
