Saturday cannot come quickly enough, as the anticipation continues to rise ahead of the Florida Gators’ collision with the LSU Tigers in The Swamp to wrap up the regular-season schedule. In the meantime, the Lady Gators provide the lone athletics action here in the middle of the week.
UF’s women’s basketball team continued its impressive start to the season, winning its road match last night over the UNC Asheville Bulldogs, 70-48, to improve to 5-1 in the 2020-21 campaign. Senior point guard Kiki Smith and sophomore standout Lavender Briggs once again led the way with the former scoring 14 or more points (15) for the sixth-straight game and the latter dropping 20 or more points (20) for the seventh time in her career.
The Lady Gators get an extended break until Sunday, Dec. 20, when they travel to take on the Dayton Flyers. Tip off is scheduled for 12 p.m. EST and is slated for broadcast on ESPN+.
