Gators leap in updated NET rankings following LSU win

Leaping lizards! The Gators won their second-straight, giving them a boost in the NET rankings.

Florida basketball picked up its second straight win on Tuesday night — both overall and in Southeastern Conference play — with a road victory over the LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge. Following an 0-2 start to the SEC schedule, the Gators evened things up at 2-2 after the 67-56 win.

The triumph gave Florida a big boost in the updated NET rankings on Wednesday, leaping from No. 68 to No. 59 following the Quadrant 2 win over the Bayou Bengals, who were ranked No. 89 prior to the matchup and fell to No. 101 afterward.

Next up for the Orange and Blue are the No. 20 Missouri Tigers (No. 33 NET) who travel to Gainesville on Saturday, Jan. 14, for an afternoon tangle in the O’Connell Center. Tipoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. EST and the game will be broadcast on the SEC Network as well as the Gators IMG Sports Network.
