Gators join recruiting race for 4-star EDGE out of Kansas

Florida is starting to shift focus to the class of 2025, and four-star edge rusher Jayden Woods is the latest junior to pick up an offer.

Florida outside linebackers coach Mike Peterson extended a scholarship offer to Mill Valley (Shawnee, Kansas) edge rusher [autotag]Jayden Woods[/autotag] on Monday, according to Gators Online.

Woods is a consensus four-star recruit who comes in at No. 168 overall on the On3 industry ranking for the class of 2025. Kansas and Kansas State are the two programs pushing the hardest for Woods right now, but the SEC is beginning to creep into the picture.

Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma and Tennessee have all offered Woods. Florida has just joined the race, but Woods still considers his recruitments open. A first cut is likely to come in the near future, but Florida should be safe considering there is talk of a January visit.

“I got sent the junior day dates in January, so we will for sure see about being able to make it up,” Woods said to Gators Online’s Corey Bender.

Florida is poised to reel in a top-five class in the 2024 cycle, but now it’s time to shift attention to the 2025s. Woods would be an excellent addition to a class that is ranked 38th in the country by On3. Four-star running back Waltez Clark is the only player under verbal commitment in the class right now.
