Gators included in 4-star running back’s top 6 schools list

The Gators were included in this blue-chip running back’s top six schools.

Florida football made yet another cut for a top prep prospect. Four-star running back [autotag]Peyton Lewis[/autotag] out of Salem (Virginia) released his top six preferred schools on his personal Twitter account Friday morning, with the Gators among the select few.

Also included were the Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Bulldogs, Penn State Nittany Lions, South Carolina Gamecocks and Tennessee Volunteers.

The 6-foot-1-inch, 190-pound ball carrier amassed 1,560 yards and 17 touchdowns overall as a high school junior. But the rising senior proved his versatility by earning the Class 4 all-state first-team honors as both a running back and kick returner while making the second team as a punt returner.

He possesses strong speed abilities, notching a 10.50 in the 100-meter and a 6.34 in the 50-meter during the high school track season. The blue-chip back has yet to make a visit to Gainesville so far in his recruitment, but that could quickly change.

Lewis is ranked No. 206 overall and No. 14 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 171 and 11, respectively. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has the South Carolina Gamecocks ahead of the pack for his commitment with a 43.4% chance of landing him, followed by Virginia Tech Hokies (10.2%), Virginia Cavaliers (8.7%) and James Madison Dukes (7.3%).
