The first-ever SEC availability report for Florida basketball was released ahead of its conference opener against the Kentucky Wildcats on Friday. As luck would have it, the Gators have a fully clean bill of health with no members of the team mentioned in the report as of Saturday morning’s update.
The Wildcats have one player listed as unavailable: fifth-year guard Kerr
Kriisa, a recent transfer from West Virginia who is recovering from surgery on his broken foot. The backup was averaging 4.1 points, 3.8 assists and 2.4 rebounds in nine appearances and one start before being sidelined.
Starting this season, league members will release preliminary availability reports at 8 p.m. ET the day before the game, disclosing who’s unavailable, limited, questionable, or doubtful for the upcoming contests. An updated release will also be issued 90 minutes before tipoff.
The SEC availability reports note only players who have played at some point in the season, which explains Florida’s former starting center Micah Handgloten’s absence from the releases.
How to watch
The Gators open up the SEC schedule against Kentucky on Saturday, Jan. 4, inside Rupp Arena. Tipoff is slated for 11 a.m. ET and the game will be broadcast on ESPN.
