The Florida Gators earned four poll points in the AP Top 25 for a second consecutive week, following a third-straight victory to close out the 2024 regular season.
Ian Kress of WLNS-TV (Lansing, Michigan) and David Paschall of the Chattanooga Times Free Press ranked the Gators at No. 24 in their poll submissions. Paschall had the Gators in the same spot last week, while Kress bumped Florida up a spot. Brian Fonesco of the New Jersey Star-Ledger previously listed the Gators as No. 25 but dropped them off his list this week.
Florida remains the unofficial No. 33 team in the voting.
The Oregon Ducks stayed put at No. 1 after finishing the regular season as the only undefeated team in college football, but former No. 2 Ohio State took a tumble down to No. 7 after losing to Michigan. The Texas Longhorns, Penn State Nittany Lions, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Georgia Bulldogs and Tennessee Volunteers all moved up one spot to round out the top six.
SEC teams in the AP Top 25
Seven Southeastern Conference programs finished the regular season ranked inside the top 25. Besides the three top-10 programs mentioned above, the Alabama Crimson Tide moved up two spots to No. 11, the South Carolina Gamecocks jumped three to No. 13, the Ole Miss Rebels held steady at No. 15 and the Missouri Tigers climbed two spots to No. 22.
The Texas A&M Aggies dropped out of the top 25, securing just 93 poll points after a loss to Texas. The LSU Tigers also earned six poll points.
