Florida offered former Yale quarterback [autotag]Aidan Warner[/autotag] as a preferred walk-on on Saturday, and now he’s set to take an official visit to the Swamp.
Warner has plans to stop by Gainesville from Jan. 3-5 for an official visit, according to Swamp247 Donovan Keiser.
“Aidan is an elite talent with the ability to throw both on and off platform for different arm slots and is extremely accurate on the run,” Warner’s trainer, Baylin Trujillo, said to Keiser. “He is a true dual-threat quarterback with a high IQ level. He has a smooth, quick release.”
Warner spent a year at Yale before hitting the transfer portal. He’s already picked up offers from Miami and Minnesota, but Florida is making a push to lock him up in hopes of adding some depth to the quarterback room.
Florida already has Graham Mertz returning for another year and plans to welcome DJ Lagway in January. Jack Miller III is likely behind those two, but Billy Napier likes to keep five quarterbacks on the roster. Parker Leise joined the team as a walk-on last year, but Micah Leon is out of eligibility. That’s where Warner fits in.
