The start of the college football schedule is just a couple of weeks away as the summer months begin to wane into fall. Ahead of the upcoming campaign, the Associated Press released its first poll results for the 2023 season on Aug. 8.
Unfortunately for Florida Gators fans, their team was nowhere near the top 25 teams in the country, but at the very least they did not go voteless as four ballots included the Orange and Blue to start things off. However, six of their Southeastern Conference peers were mentioned in the top rankings, headed by the Georgia Bulldogs (No. 1), followed by the Alabama Crimson Tide (No. 4), LSU Tigers (No. 5), Tennessee Volunteers (No. 12), Ole Miss Rebels (No. 22) and Texas A&M Aggies (No. 23).
Florida opens its 2023 schedule on the road against the Utah Utes, who are ranked No. 14 in the AP Poll, on Aug. 31 with a kickoff time of 8 p.m. EDT.
