Florida basketball made it three in a row on Saturday afternoon when they defeated the Missouri Tigers at home inside the O’Connell Center, 73-64. After an 0-2 start to the Southeastern Conference schedule, the Gators are now 10-7 overall along with a 3-2 mark in the SEC — as well as a fresh outlook on the possibility of making the NCAA Tournament.
Heading into the game, Florida sat at No. 54 in the NET rankings; the Quadrant 2 win over Mizzou pushed the Gators up six spots to No. 48. The Gators are now 0-6 in Quad 1 games, 2-1 in Quad 2, 5-0 in Quad 3 and 3-0 in Quad 4 matchups.
Next up for Florida is a rematch with Texas A&M Aggies — who rank No. 57 in the NET — on the road in College Station on Wednesday, Jan. 18. TAMU snared a three-point win over the Gators on Jan. 4 in Gainesville but the Orange and Blue will have a chance for payback starting at 7 p.m. EST, with the game being broadcast by the SEC Network as well as the Gators IMG Sports Network.
