The Florida Gators are tied for 11th in the SEC after eight weeks of play, according to the SEC beat writers at 247Sports.
Each week, the 247Sports SEC writers vote to rank each of the 16 teams in the conference and adjust the poll accordingly. Georgia moved ahead of Texas after taking down the Longhorns in convincing fashion, earning all 16 first-place votes.
Florida is tied for the biggest move up the rankings this week with a two-spot jump. Tennessee and South Carolina both moved up two places as well, ranking fourth and 10th, respectively.
Alabama is the big loser this week after looking undisciplined in its loss to Tennessee. The post-Nick Saban era hasn’t been a complete disaster, but it’s clear that the culture is changing in Tuscaloosa. Officials called 15 penalties against the Crimson Tide on Saturday, including a personal foul that turned a late fourth-and-7 into a fourth-and-22
