CLEVELAND — Chicago White Sox left-handed pitcher Garrett Crochet hurled another scoreless inning for Chicago in its 3-2 loss to the Cleveland Indians Wednesday night at Progressive Field.
He did not surrender a hit and struck out two in his most recent outing.
Crochet, the former University of Tennessee baseball player, has now made four appearances for the White Sox since being promoted to the team’s Major League roster on Sept. 18.
He has not given up a run, surrendering just one hit, no walks and has five strikeouts.
Crochet was a first-round pick by the White Sox, going with the No. 11 overall selection in the 2020 Major League Baseball draft.
He is the first player drafted this year to make it to the Major League.
Crochet was a key player for the Volunteers in 2019 as they made the NCAA Regionals for the first time in 2005.
He made only one appearance for the Big Orange in 2020 as the season was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic.
