Former Vol and Chicago White Sox pitcher Garrett Crochet recorded two strikeouts Wednesday in a spring training game.
Crochet pitched one inning, recording two strikeouts and surrendering one hit against Texas. The Rangers (3-1) defeated Chicago (5-2), 14-5, at Surprise Stadium in Surprise, Arizona.
Wednesday’s contest was Crochet’s second appearance during spring training. He recorded one strikeout in one inning pitched March 20 against Colorado.
Crochet was drafted by the White Sox in the 2020 Major League Baseball draft, selected with the No. 11 overall pick.
He played for the Vols from 2018-20, appearing in 36 games. The former Vol was 10-9 and recorded 149 strikeouts at Tennessee.
