Garrett, Clowney fuel speculation of latter’s return to Cleveland

Via social media, Garrett and Clowney seem to be hinting toward Clowney returning to the Browns this year. It has been the expected outcome for some time:

The slow march to the NFL draft is almost over. In about a week, the Cleveland Browns will be making their first selection of the draft. The 44th pick in the second round is a lot lower than usual but that was the price to acquire QB Deshaun Watson.

With only a few days left, Jadeveon Clowney could be the key to the Browns plans. We noted earlier this week how he could flip what the team does if he re-signs especially if it is a multi-year deal.

Pairing up with Myles Garrett, Clowney had a great year in Cleveland but made it clear that money would decide where he goes in free agency. With a lot of money spent around the league, Clowney’s market for a big deal may be limited to the Browns or a losing team.

Garrett and Clowney fueled speculation of a reunion via Instagram. Garrett shared two pictures on his IG story, one of which Clowney then shared on his:

“Unfinished business” sends a clear message of what the long-time Cleveland defensive end would like to see. Clowney sharing the post that Garrett tagged him in seems to send a similar message.

Around the league, Clowney’s return to the Browns has been expected since shortly after Watson was acquired. It seems like only a matter of time before that becomes official.
