It was a nail-biter, but the Aggies prevailed and continue to trend in the right direction in SEC play. Their game two victory gave them the series win with a chance to sweep Kentucky on Sunday. Down two outs Austin Bost hit a big-time two-run double in the top of the ninth putting the Aggies up 8-7, before Will Johnston closed it out in the bottom of the ninth for the win.
Coach Scholssnagle gave some praise to his senior infielder:
“I’m a big believer in him and his competitiveness,” Schlossnagle said of Bost. “Glad to finally see him rewarded.”
Austin Bost on his big game:
“It’s definitely a big weight off my shoulders,” Bost admitted. “I haven’t been able to get stuff to fall, but God’s got a plan, the game’s got a plan, and we just got to keep trusting the process.”
Game three will start at 12pm on April 23rd
