The Southeastern Conference opener has finally arrived for Florida basketball after its game against the Ole Miss Rebels was postponed last week due to COVID issues for the Gators. Tonight, the Orange and Blue host the Alabama Crimson Tide in the O’Connell Center for Florida’s first SEC test of the season.
The Gators only have four votes in the Coaches Poll while they remain completely shut out of the AP Poll after a subpar December. On the other side, the Tide roll in ranked No. 20 in the Coaches Poll and No. 15 in the AP Poll, though they have stumbled a bit since moving into the top 10 earlier this season. While there seems to be a gap between the two teams, this game is expected to be a close one according to the oddsmakers.
The Tipico Sportsbook favors the Gators by a mere 1.5-points over the Crimson Tide while the over/under is set at 149.5. The money lines for Florida and Alabama are minus-135 and plus-110, respectively, as of 10:30 a.m. EST on Wednesday morning.
