LSU basketball defeated South Carolina 85-80 on Saturday inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, allowing the Tigers move to 10-2, while the Gamecocks fall to 3-3.
LSU’s starters combined for 79 total points. The Tigers trailed at the half and didn’t have a lead in the second half until 4:38 remaining in the game.
For the game, LSU shot 45.8% from the floor and 38.9% from behind the three point line. South Carolina was held to just 8-of-29 from beyond the arc.

Trendon Watford
Watford scored 23 points on 7-of-16 shooting in 35 minutes of action. When the Tigers needed a big play late, the sophomore forward sprung into action to help lead the team to victory.
With 3:06 left, the game was tied at 76 as Watford was sent to the free throw line. He hit both shots to give the Tigers a 78-76 lead.
As the season rolls along, Watford continues to be a driving force on offense for the Tigers.
