The buzz around the National Football League is with the schedule release coming out. But, as that comes and goes, experts and even fans around the country are looking at rosters and sizing up the potential of all 32 teams. Thomas Valentine of Pro Football Focus wrote about the undrafted players that have joined an NFL roster. He wrote one player from each team, and UCLA’s Gabriel Murphy made the list.
Valentine had this to say about Murphy.
The Vikings have invested heavily in the edge rusher spot this offseason, signing Andrew Van Ginkel, and Jonathan Greenard in addition to drafting Dallas Turner in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. They’re set with their plan, but undrafted free agent Gabriel Murphy could make a dent as an impact rusher. He earned 55 pressures and an 85.0 grade in 2023, as well as an 86.0 pass-rushing grade.
The 23-year-old Murphy spent two seasons with the Bruins following his 24 games at North Texas. He started in all 26 games with UCLA and earned honorable mention All-Pac 12 honors. He was also part of the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll in the Spring of 2023.
