Los Angeles Lakers guard Gabe Vincent finally returned to action on Wednesday versus the Chicago Bulls after being forced to sit for an extended stretch due to a knee ailment.
It was the first time he had played in an actual game since Nov. 30. Although he only played 14 minutes, he made an impact, and there was hope he would help L.A. with its perimeter defense.
Alas, Vincent was held out of Thursday’s contest against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He will also sit Saturday’s matchup with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
As a result, the outlook is starting to look bleak for him.
Darvin Ham says Gabe Vincent is experiencing “a little bit of swelling” in his left knee and the team is trying to determine the next steps in his recovery process.

The former University of California, Santa Barabra Gaucho is reportedly considering a procedure that could keep him out until late February.
Gabe Vincent is considering a surgical procedure on his left knee that would keep him sidelined for 6-to-8 weeks, league sources told ESPN. Vincent’s camp is exhausting all other options before settling on surgery.

Last spring, Vincent averaged 12.7 points and 3.5 assists a game while shooting 37.8% from 3-point range, and he was a big factor in the Miami Heat’s Cinderella run to the NBA Finals.
