Current Philadelphia 76ers forward Furkan Korkmaz, a native of Turkey, has always been one to step up and help his country in a time of need. Turkey has been dealing with the aftermath of earthquakes that have left thousands of people dealing with the natural disaster.
Korkmaz teamed up with teammate Joel Embiid in an effort to raise money to help Turkey on Thursday. Korkmaz got Embiid to sign a jersey of his and Korkmaz is now auctioning it off in order to help the cause and help those in need in this tough time.
Korkmaz tweeted his message in his native language, but when translated to English, he says:
I am following the earthquake disaster in my dear country with great sadness. When I talked to @JoelEmbiid he said he wanted to do his best. We are auctioning Joel’s jersey for our earthquake victims.
All proceeds will be donated to @ahbap.
Canım ülkemde yaşanan deprem felaketini büyük bir üzüntüyle takip ediyorum. @JoelEmbiid ile konuştuğumda elinden geleni yapmak istediğini söyledi. Joel’in formasını depremzede vatandaşlarımız için açık arttırmaya çıkartıyoruz.
Elde edilecek tüm gelir @ahbap ‘a bağışlanacaktır. pic.twitter.com/UmhVMvZ0Jg
