When the San Antonio Spurs elected to take University of Connecticut combo guard Stephon Castle with their No. 4 overall pick of the 2024 NBA draft, there were some fans and analysts who doubted the pick. But so far in summer league action in Las Vegas and the California Classic, the Georgia native has been proving his doubters wrong.
Castle most recently put up a game-high 22 points on 8-of-21 shooting from the floor overall (including going 2-of-6 from beyond the arc; Castle also hit 4-of-5 from the free throw line) in a win over the Portland Trail Blazers in Las Vegas Summer league. He also logged 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal in 29 minutes of floor time with 5 turnovers and just 1 personal foul.
The folks behind the San Antonio Spurs’ official YouTube channel got his entire postgame presser on video for those of you who would like to hear what he had to say about the win for San Antonio in Las Vegas.
