WR Malik Benson will have a new home this fall for the third time in three seasons. Benson started his college career with two years at Hutchinson Community College before being ranked as the No. 1 JUCO transfer in the country and portaling to Alabama for the 2023 season.
In his lone season with the Tide, he appeared in all 14 games and recorded 13 receptions for 162 yards and one score but decided to leave a loaded WR room. After five days in the portal, Benson transferred to Florida State, where he had 25 catches for 311 yards and one score. However, after a disastrous 2-10 season, Benson has re-entered the portal, and thanks to a new rule for JUCO players, he will have an extra year of eligibility.
Benson had no shortage of suitors coming out of Community College and should draw major interest in the portal. At this moment in time, there is no prediction of where he will end up, but it is a big blow to a Seminoles roster that needs all the help it can get.
Alabama will open their 2025 season with a trip to Tallahassee to take on Florida State.
