Free-Agent TE Greg Olsen to meet with Redskins this week

Olsen will travel to Washington to meet with the Redskins about a prospective contract agreement this week.

Free-agent tight end Greg Olsen will reportedly meet with the Washington Redskins later this week, as he searches for a new team with whom he can continue his football career with.

The Redskins, who are now coached by Ron Rivera, Olsen’s former coach with the Carolina Panthers, are in desperate need for help at the TE position, and many people believe that they are planning to look to either free agency or the NFL Draft to fill the position.

It’s was rumored earlier this offseason that Olsen would be a good fit for the Redskins, as he is a well-decorated pass-catcher who is obviously experienced with the coaching staff in Washington. Some believe that Olsen’s riddled injury history over the past couple of seasons, however, is a red flag that the Redskins know all too well, having dealt with the likes of Jordan Reed over the years.

Should the Redskins’ meeting with Olsen go well, and he signs a contract in Washington, don’t be surprised if the team still chooses to draft a young player at the position and work to mold him for future seasons.
