The Seattle Seahawks hosted rookie free agent wide receiver Michael Jefferson for a visit today, one day after he visited the NFC West rival San Francisco 49ers. This comes via a report by Mike Garafolo at NFL Network.
After starting out at Alabama State, Jefferson (6-foot-4, 199 pounds) played the last two seasons of his college career at Louisiana, where he totaled 69 catches, 1,291 yards and 11 touchdowns in 26 games.
Jefferson tested reasonably well at the combine, posting a 4.56 forty yard dash, a 37″ vertical and 16 bench press reps. However, he got into a car crash just weeks before the draft and went unpicked. Per Garafolo, He’s recently been cleared to travel, take physicals and join an NFL team.
Some analysts really like Jefferson’s developmental potential, including Touchdown Wire editor Doug Farrar – who had him as a mid-rounder.
Wrote a tape piece on Jefferson earlier this month. Mid-round prospect with a LOT of developmental potential. https://t.co/MS12TEclsr https://t.co/Co6ggLxVC6
