Free agent CB Adoree’ Jackson draws interest from Cardinals

The former Tennessee Titans first-round pick was released this week and the Cardinals are one of several teams to express interest.

The Arizona Cardinals are apparently being patient in free agency when it comes to the cornerback position. Patrick Peterson has agreed to sign with the Minnesota Vikings and the Cardinals have released and re-signed Robert Alford.

They have not signed any other player at the position.

However, they have reported interest in one player who was recently released.

Former Tennessee Titans cornerback Adoree’ Jackson was released before his contract became fully guaranteed. He was in the fifth-year option of his rookie contract that was set to pay him more than $10 million in 2021.

Now Jackson has many suitors. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Jackson has visits lined up with the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles. The Cardinals are among four other teams who have expressed interest, according to USA TODAY’s Mike Jones.

Jackson was the Titans’ first-round pick in 2017. He started all 16 games at cornerback as a rookie and also returned kicks and punts. He had 17 pass breakups that season. In 2018, he played in all 16 games, starting 13. He had two interceptions and 10 pass breakups.

He played in 11 games in 2019 and in only three games last season. He spent most of the season in injured reserve with a knee injury.

We do not know how much interest the Cardinals had. It could be they placed a call to see what his asking price was and that was it. It could have gone further than that as well. We will know Jackson’s destination likely in a few days.
