Frank Reich provides injury updates on Xavier Woods, Frankie Luvu, CJ Henderson

Panthers HC Frank Reich on Xavier Woods’ hamstring injury: It’s not a day-by-day situation

With two key starters already down in cornerback Jaycee Horn and linebacker Shaq Thompson, the Carolina Panthers defense really can’t afford any further losses to their lineup. But they’ll seemingly be dealing with at least one more.

Head coach Frank Reich, ahead of Wednesday’s practice, told reporters that safety Xavier Woods will miss some time. The seventh-year defensive back exited this past Sunday’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks with a hamstring injury.

“He’s gonna miss a little bit,” Reich said. “Not ready to put an exact timeframe on it at this point. It’s not a day-by-day situation.”

Reich also gave updates on linebacker Frankie Luvu and cornerback CJ Henderson, both of whom also made early exits in Week 3. Henderson will practice on Wednesday with an injured ankle while Luvu, who reportedly is not expected to miss any game action, will not participate in this afternoon’s session due to a hip pointer.

Additionally, wide receiver Jonathan Mingo remains in concussion protocol.
