Frank Gore was not a happy camper after the Jets’ 24-0 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday.
Gore, frustrated following New York’s sixth loss of the season, chastised the offense for its poor starts and inability to execute.
“We can’t [expletive] wait until the [expletive] fourth quarter to start playing ball, man,” the 37-year-old said, per NorthJersey.com’s Andy Vasquez. “You can’t start slow in this league. When you have a chance to make a play, you have to make a play. That goes for me. That goes for everybody on the offense.”
Usually mild-mannered, Gore finished Sunday’s contest with 11 carries for 46 yards. He also got caught four passes for 24 yards.
Gore’s biggest issue with the offense is that the unit is getting off to slow starts. The Jets are consistently starting games with multiple three and outs, putting themselves into undiggable holes. Gore also mentioned how tired he is of seeing plays on film that the team isn’t taking advantage of.
“We’re just not making them,” Gore said, per The Athletic’s Connor Hughes.
Gore went on to note that he’s not sticking up for Adam Gase when he says that. He believes New York’s biggest issue is execution, a thought that has been echoed by the coaching staff amid criticism of Gase’s play-calling.
The Jets are averaging just over 12 points per contest through six games. Gore’s comments are more than warranted and how animated he was should speak volumes to Gang Green’s problems.
