After being plagued by some early season injuries, the Iowa Hawkeyes men’s basketball team appears to be getting back to full strength right before Big Ten conference play begins.
Head coach Fran McCaffery provided a succinct update on the Hawkeyes’ injury status as they get ready for the final non-conference game against New Hampshire.
“Everybody is ready to go,” Fran McCaffery said about Iowa’s injury designations.
One key player returning from injury is sophomore forward Seydou Traore, who has missed time this year due to a lingering ankle injury.
“Seydou looked really good. He appears to be back to 100%. That’s great news,” McCaffery added specifically speaking about Traore.
Despite the Hawkeyes carrying a 9-3 overall record, Traore has appeared in just six of those games and many of those games have seen him only in limited action.
Traore is averaging 6.7 points, and 3.3 rebounds while shooting 42.9% from the field in his action.
Iowa’s next action comes on Monday, Dec. 30 when they welcome in the New Hampshire Wildcats (2-12) to Carver-Hawkeye Arena for a 6 p.m. tipoff that will air on Big Ten Network.
Following the non-conference finale, Iowa will get a few days off to get ready for Big Ten play which begins at the end of the week.
Iowa starts their Big Ten play with a road trip to take on the Wisconsin Badgers on Friday, Jan. 3 at 6 p.m. CT in a game airing on FS1.
