FOX’s Jay Glazer believes Raiders could target QB Tom Brady in free agency

One of the NFL’s most prominent storylines this offseason is where will six-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Tom Brady be playing in 2020? For the first time in his career, he is set to become a free agent and is expected to test the market.

With many believing that Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden would like to upgrade their quarterback position this offseason, could the Las Vegas Raiders be a potential destination for the future Hal of Fame quarterback?

In a recent article by The Athletic’s Jay Glazer, he suggested the Raiders could target Brady in free agency. Glazer’s reasoning centers around the belief that Brady could help build the Raiders’ brand in Las Vegas. Take a look at Glazer’s thoughts on Brady and the Raiders:

They can use Tom Brady to build the business of the Raiders, which will now be an international team. I say that because of all the big business whales from all over the world who are going to come to Las Vegas and now be exposed to the Raiders. That’s going to be a hot ticket. The international marketing will be huge. The Raiders are going to be big players internationally with that. That’s why I would think it’s a brilliant move to go to Vegas.

While Glazer is undoubtedly one of the most plugged-in reporters in all of the NFL, it seems unlikely the Raiders would actually sign Brady. Mayock and Gruden are looking for a long-term solution at quarterback, and Brady certainly isn’t that. Brady is also likely to join a team that is ready to compete for a Super Bowl, and the Raiders appear to be a step or two away from achieving that goal.

It’s fun to dream about what Brady would look like in the Silver and Black, it’s just tough to see him playing anywhere else but in New England. But given the international appeal of Las Vegas, we can never say never about top talent wanting to live and perform in “Sin City.”
