The FOX Sports portion of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season is over, and the results are in on viewership. Despite a postponed Daytona 500 and rain-shortened Coca-Cola 600, FOX Sports and NASCAR earned an average of 3.369 million viewers. That is up one percent, as the network averaged 3.338 million viewers in 2023.
This is the first year since FOX Sports began airing the Cup Series that a season has finished in the positives after a weather-affected Daytona 500. For the six Cup Series races on FOX Sports 1, NASCAR was up 13% compared to last year. For the nine races on FOX, excluding the weather-impacted Daytona 500, the network was up 4% overall.
NASCAR and FOX Sports should be thrilled with the results, as an overall increase with an impacted Daytona 500 has never been accomplished. The new TV deal for NASCAR begins in 2025, and FOX Sports capped off a very successful final year of the current contract. NASCAR hopes to carry the momentum to NBC Sports, which will close out the 2024 Cup Series season.
