FOX Sports analyst Joel Klatt made it clear that Alabama is not the school that should be claiming Jalen Hurts. Instead, it should be Oklahoma.
On Klatt’s talk show, he also mentioned that Ohio State fans should not be able to claim Joe Burrow either. “Hey Bama and Ohio State, you don’t get to claim Joe Burrow and Jalen Hurts,” he said.
I am fairly certain that Alabama fans will continue to debate their thought process behind why Hurts can be claimed by the Tide. After all, he spent three seasons in Tuscaloosa. He graduated from Alabama. Not to mention, he was a two-year starter and won a National Championship with the Tide in 2017.
Klatt’s counter-claim is simple. “Jalen Hurts is who he is now because he had the ability to transfer,” he said. Simply put, the Sooners developed Hurts into the quarterback that he is today. Well, that is what Klatt believes at least.
Jalen Hurts’ alma-mater debate has spread across the sports media world and generated a lot of diverse opinions. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I am sure Klatt will receive backlash for his statement regarding Hurts and what school should be able to claim him.
