June 21 came and went, and four-star wide receiver Chris Lawson has yet to announce his college commitment. He set a top 3 earlier in June of Washington, Oregon, and California along with a commitment date of June 21, but according to multiple reports, has pushed his decision back to early July.
It still appears to be a two-horse race for the four-star wide receiver between coach Jedd Fisch and the Huskies, and coach Dan Lanning and the Ducks.
Lawson would be an exciting addition to Washington’s class, as position coach Kevin Cummings is looking for a long-term rebuild in the wide receivers room through the 2025 class. He’s already secured a commitment from three-star prospect Raiden Vines-Bright and is looking to add at least two more recruits to the room.
The 6-foot, 180-pound Lawson is an impressive route runner would fit very well in Fisch’s offense. While he doesn’t necessarily have the size of a No. 1 wide receiver, his movement skills and ability after the catch could turn him into an exciting complimentary piece under Cummings.
Now, the Huskies have even more time to sell him on why he should take his talents to Montlake.
