Jedd Fisch, Brennan Carroll, and the entire Washington Huskies coaching staff did an exceptional job identifying the rising talent of Zac Stascausky and earning his commitment in August, flipping him away from Big Ten foe Minnesota.
Since his announcement, the 6-foot-6, 275-pound product of Central Catholic High School in Portland, Oregon, has exploded on the recruiting trail, receiving offers from Georgia, Oregon, and, on Wednesday, Michigan. He was upgraded to a four-star prospect by 247Sports and now ranks as the nation’s No. 19 tackle and No. 164 overall prospect, and appears to have piqued the interest of Michigan coach Sherrone Moore.
In his first recruiting cycle as head coach, Moore is looking to build up his offensive line class, which has three members, headlined by five-star Andrew Babalola, and has taken an interest in Washington’s top offensive line commit.
Stascausky has stated his interest in taking official visits to Georgia and Oregon, and if the Wolverines make a push, it’s possible he will take their offer into consideration. Fisch’s coaching staff is going to have a significant battle on its hands to retain the services of its second-highest-ranked recruit.
