West Orange (N.J.) Seton Hall Prep safety Jaylen McClain is a 6-foot-1, 185-pound four-star prospect who narrowed his top list of schools in February.
McClain is rated a four-star (0.9134 per the 247Sports Composite) prospect and ranked the No. 242 player nationally, the No. 21 safety and the No. 4 prospect in his state.
His five official visits, as of now, will be USC, Notre Dame, Oregon, Ohio State and Rutgers. It appears that USC, Notre Dame, Oregon and Ohio State will be visited in June and a Rutgers visit might happen in July.
In this story from our friends over at Rutgers Wire, McClain cited his relationship with head coach Lincoln Riley as important in his recruitment by USC.
“It’s my first time going down there, I want to get a feel,” McClain said of USC. “Got a great relationship with coach Riley – we talk a lot. Looking to see and experience it.”
Rutgers, however, has a very deep and established relationship with McClain, as Rutgers Wire reports. It will be fascinating to see how this recruitment unfolds.
