The Washington Huskies already have one running back committed in the 2025 class and appear to be looking to add a second. On Saturday, four-star prospect Michael Turner Jr. announced his top six schools and included Washington along with Baylor, Oklahoma State, SMU, TCU, and Utah.
Turner Jr. is the son of former Atlanta Falcons running back Michael Turner, who racked up 7,388 rushing yards over his nine-year NFL career and was named an All-Pro in 2008 and 2010. He passed down much of his talent to his son, who is ranked as the nation’s No. 11 running back and No. 187 overall player by 247Sports.
The product of Richland High School in Texas hasn’t set a commitment date yet and could hold off on making his pledge for a while since he has only taken official visits to two schools on his list, Baylor and SMU.
Running backs coach Scottie Graham could end up looking for a second player in the 2025 class if junior Jonah Coleman opts to leave school early for the NFL draft and the 5-foot-11, 200-pound Turner Jr. would be a perfect option to fill his shoes.
If Graham does end up taking a second running back in 2025, he could end up being set at the position for the foreseeable future, since the Huskies already have a 2026 pledge at the position too in the No. 1 player from the state of Oregon, Ansu Sanoe.
