Auburn football is building for the future by extending an offer to one of the top running backs of the 2026 class.
[autotag]Jonaz Walton[/autotag], a four-star back from Central High School in Carrollton, Georgia, received an offer from Auburn on Thursday. The offer is Walton’s 12th, and the fifth that he has received since May.
Walton has been high on Auburn’s radar recently, as Walton was one of four 2026 targets that visited the Plains for Auburn’s season opener with UMass. His recruitment is still in the beginning stages, but Georgia appears to be ahead of the pack early on. He tells On3’s Chad Simmons that he has built a relationship with running backs coach Dell McGee, and he is pleased with the attention that the Bulldogs have shown so far.
“I have visited Georgia multiple times for games and camps,” Walton said. “Them being the first school to offer meant a lot and it showed me how much interest they have in me. They have been connecting with me ever since they offered me.”
Walton is a four-star running back according to 247Sports. He is the No. 4 overall player from Georgia for the 2026 class and is the No. 2 overall running back for the cycle. He has also received offers from programs such as Georgia Tech, Clemson, USC, Tennessee, and Alabama.
