Four-star RB Donovan Edwards talks recruiting, wants to visit Oklahoma

It’s no secret Oklahoma is after some of the top running backs in the country. The Sooners are still in it for four-star Donovan Edwards.

It’s no secret Oklahoma is after some of the top running backs in the country in 2020.

The Sooners made a run at four-star and Ohio State running back commit TreVeyon Henderson, are currently after Dallas-Fort Worth metro area five-star running back Camar Wheaton and, still, after Michigan native and four-star running backs Donovan Edwards.

“I’ll probably try to get out there unofficially,” Edwards told WolverinesWire a little over ten days ago. “If I can’t do an unofficial, I understand that. But Oklahoma is definitely a place of interest for me.”

The four-star running back is close to in-state school Michigan and is looking hard at Georgia, but the Sooners are still in the mix and Edwards mentioned them again on Friday night after his game.

“I didn’t even know — (the dead period ends) Jan. 1 now? I didn’t even know that,” Edwards told WolverinesWire. “It really doesn’t effect it. My option is my option. The way I feel comfortable around the team, if I feel comfortable. If I go to Norman, Oklahoma and I feel comfortable, who knows what will happen.”

Oklahoma’s running backs are now coached by former Sooners running back DeMarco Murray. The Sooners have yet to land a running back for the 2020 recruiting class.
