Four-star offensive lineman puts Penn State in his Top 9

Penn State would love to add this four-star offensive lineman to its Class of 2024 recruiting haul.

Penn State is continuing to try and bolster their 2024 recruiting class. Currently, 247Sports has them ranked sixth in the country in their national recruiting rankings. This puts them third in the Big Ten behind Michigan and Ohio State, who are ranked number one and two nationally.

There’s still a lot of recruiting time left for prospects of the 2024 class as those players still have their senior years of high school to play before fulling shifting their attention to the next level.

Obviously, that hasn’t stopped players from committing to their schools. Penn State currently has 13 commits in the class and are actively searching to add more. Quarterback has been a big priority in recent weeks and it seems like they have their sites set on another offensive lineman.

On Thursday, four-star offensive lineman William Satterwhite cut his list of schools down to nine. Satterwhite has been a top priority of Penn State as they look to add their fifth offensive lineman of the class.

The other schools on the list are Michigan, Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Tennessee, Auburn, Michigan State and Cincinnati.

Satterwhite is a 6’4″ 295 pound prospect from Ohio. On3’s industry rankings has him as the 196th player in the 2024 class and the 13th overall interior offensive lineman. Rivals has Satterwhite rated the most favorably, putting him in their top 100 national prospects.

Penn State is the favorite to land Satterwhite according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 91.8% chance. He told Chad Simmons of On3 that Penn State and Alabama were his two top choices as he headed into the spring.

However, it seems like that may have changed.

He told Simmons, “I saw a lot of different things on visits and it has helped me piece it all together and have a set list now. That’s when Clemson, Georgia and Tennessee moved to the top three. I got a real feeling at those schools and it felt like home for me. It was like I was with my high school team and I felt secure at those schools. They made me feel important and I had an overall good time at all three schools.”

That does not bode well for Penn State at the moment. Although he has visited Penn State the most amount of times, he only has one official visit scheduled this summer to go see Alabama for a second time.

We’ll see if Penn State will be able to move back to the top of Satterwhite’s list or if they’re content with the linemen that they already have in the class of 2024.
